Airedale Puppies
The Airedale Terrier (often just referred to as an “Airedale”) is known as the “King of the Terriers” as he is the biggest of the terrier group.
Airedale Terrier puppies will grow from 22″ to 24″ (56 to 61cm) tall.
An Airedale Terrier can weigh between 44 and 50 pounds (20 to 23kg).
Airedale puppies come in two colours black and tan or grizzle and tan.
They have a dense wiry coat that is best brushed daily but will need stripping at least twice a year as they do not moult.
Airedale Terrier puppies were originally bred from the Welsh Terrier and the Otter Hound.
The breed has also been known as the Waterside Terrier as it was bred to hunt otters in the rivers and streams of the Airedale valley in Yorkshire.
Airedale Terrier puppies are best suited for country living but will also adapt to town life as long as they have a secure garden.
Due to Airedale’s being an energetic breed they need long walks so would make an ideal dog for joggers and hikers.
When Airedales are exercised well they make great family pets as they are loyal, affectionate and protective, but Airedale puppies can sometimes be a little too boisterous for a young child.
Airedale Puppies have a non-moulting coat therefore are suitable for allergy sufferers.
